Tuesday 25th October – Tuesday 6th November 2016

Bring a Friend to a DSL class and you both receive a £5 voucher to use towards any DSL classes or merchandise and a goodie bag.

T & C’s The £5 voucher expires on 30th November 2016 but can also be used for pre-paying for courses which begin after the 30th November 2016 if the course payment is made in full before the voucher expiry date. Yourself and/or friend must be trying the class for the first time for the offer to be valid. The voucher cannot be used for the class you are attending in the first instance but can be used for subsequent DSL class visits or DSL merchandise (excludes dance shoes). Valid for DSL Classes ONLY: Beginner Ballet, Improvers/Inter Ballet, Inter/Adv Tap, Improvers Eve Tap, Hip Hop Choreography, & DSL Fundamental Courses. One goodie bag per person.

DSL WEEKLY CLASSES:

NEW Beginners Ballet

Mondays: 6.30pm – 7.15pm in Studio 1

Suitable for beginners who already have some prior knowledge of the basics of ballet (up to Grade 3 level) or for those who have completed the Ballet Fundamentals Course. This class will focus on developing further the fundamentals of ballet technique using barre, centre work, and allegro exercises.

Improvers/Intermediate Ballet

Mondays: 7.45pm – 9.15pm in Studio 1

Suitable for those who have previously studied Ballet (recommended Grade 3 /4 or above), with a good grasp of basics, who want to work at a faster pace and more intricate combinations. It is advised that you are familiar with steps such as, glissades, jetes, sissonnes, arabesque and attitude lines, pirouettes, balances, full plie in all positions.

Hip Hop Choreography

Tuesdays: 6.20pm – 7.20pm in Studio 3

This fun choreography based adult dance class is suitable for Improvers/ Intermediate level and will incorporate hip hop moves and grooves within different routines each week. A great way to keep fit, and develop your urban skills! Newcomers are always welcome! N.B. This replaces Sarah’s Thursday Hip Hop class 

Improvers Tap

Tuesdays: 7.30pm – 8.30pm in Studio 2

Covering the basics to help build upon your technique and vocabulary of steps, these classes include a mixture of technical exercises and fun simple routines using a wide range of musical styles, from the traditional to the latest pop track. Mixed gender, adults of all ages.

Intermediate/Advanced Tap

Tuesdays: 6.20pm – 7.20pm in Studio 2

Looking at more technical steps (such as wings, pick ups on one foot, maxi-ford, suzie Q etc) and rhythms into fun routines using a wide range of musical styles, from the traditional to the latest pop track. Mixed gender, adults of all ages. As a guide it is suitable for those who’ve previously studied tap to Grade 5 and above.

DSL FUNDAMENTALS COURSES:

Ballet Fundamentals:
Thursday 17th November – Thursday 15th December 2016- 6.15 – 7.30pm

Suitable for beginners who would like to get a grounding and understanding of the basics of Ballet. This six week course will look at the technique of the basic steps, the terminology, and main principles of the style in a fun and relaxed class format. Ballet is a great way to tone and improve overall fitness while improving skills such as balance, co-ordination, artistry of movement and developing core strength.

Hip Hop Fundamentals:
Tuesday 8th November – Tuesday 13th December 2016- 7.30 – 8.30pm

This fun filled 6 week course will introduce you to some of the basic hip hop foundations including house, new jack, breakin, locking, krumping and more! A chance to learn some grooves and moves for the Saturday nights whilst getting a great work out. Come sweat it out with us hip hop style. Please contact us to book onto this course.

Tap Fundamentals:
New three part course starting in the January 2017- dates TBC.

This course is exploring the basic technique and fundamentals of tap dance including traditional beginner steps such as shuffles, taps, riffs and basic rhythm exercises. The Part 1 course aims to teach you the basic vocabulary to help you progress into Part 2 and 3 and the main beginners class.

We’d love to have you here dancing with us, and now is as good as time as any to start!! All of our DSL Classes operate on a drop in basis, so there’s no need to book. Just turn up on the night ready to dance!
