This class is a combination of 30 minutes Barre Pilates and 30 minutes traditional Mat Pilates for dancers of all abilities and styles. Regular conditioning will improve balance, flexibility and strength to lift your dance perfomance. Pilates for Dancers aims to strengthen postural muscles- in particular in the hips and shoulders, encourage postural awareness and stretch some of those muscles tight from dancing.

If you are a dancer, it is an open-level class so no prior experience of Pilates is necessary. You do not have to be a dancer to attend – if you’re not, some experience of Pilates is helpful. *N.B. this class may not be suited to experienced ballet dancers due to different postural requirements of ballet compared to bellydance- please drop me a line if you’re not sure whether it will be suited to you.
