Tutor Bio Award-winning Oriental dance artist Helena is known for her vivacious elegance, infectious enthusiasm....and earthshaking shimmies! Specialising in both authentic Egyptian Oriental dance and its glamorous westernised cousin, belly dance, Helena has more than ten years experience under her shimmy belt. Her expressive style makes her especially popular with Arab audiences, who delight in finding a Western dancer with such a genuine connection to the soul of their dance. An ever-popular instructor, Helena's enthusiasm and joy in dance are equally apparent in the classroom. Don't be fooled - her humorous, easy-going style belies the serious amount of technique and detail she packs in. In addition to her solo work Helena is director and choreographer of Orientale Dance Company and is also a qualified yoga instructor. Helena has collaborated with Dance Studio Leeds since its inception, offering courses in Beginner Belly Dance, workshops, one to ones and hen party tasters.
