Samba is a Brazilian dance created in the 19th century. Samba no Pé (solo dance) is the main attraction of Brazilian Carnival and it is our focus in our classes.

Our lessons are divided in two main parts: 1- SAMBA MOVES: technique, freestyle and choreographies. 2- BODY CONFIDENCE: how to walk and dance in heels and how to showcase yourself. Confidence, expression and self worth are guaranteed!

Besides dancing Samba at home or in the club, our Passistas (samba dancers) will also be able to perform at gigs, parades and even Carnival.

Tutor Bio My name is Thali, I’m from São Paulo – Brazil, and I’ve been dancing since I was 2. As a child, I did ballet and had some dance presentations and by the age of 18, I was dance instructor at Gloria Ibarra Gym, in São Paulo. I have 17 years experience in teaching typical Brazilian dances such as samba, forró and samba-rock. My big passion for samba took me to a large number of Samba Schools (Escolas de Samba) involved in São Paulo’s Carnival, where I could dance samba and practice choreographies. I did samba performances for many years at the Samba School Vai Vai (São Paulo’s Carnival winner 15 times.) In Leeds I'm part of Unidos do Ritmo Samba School (Leeds Samba), where I play tamborim and dance in gigs and parades.
