This 7 week course explores the basic technique and fundamentals of tap dance including traditional beginner steps such as shuffles, taps, riffs and basic rhythm exercises. This course aims to teach you the basic vocabulary to help you progress into the Part 2 course and the main Improvers class.

I just wanted to say thank you for the tap fundamentals course. I wanted to learn how to tap dance because I figured you can’t be miserable when you tap dance. I have to say I was right. Tutor Bio Originally from Australia, Amelia has been dancing her entire life and has trained in virtually every style incl. ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary dance, lyrical and musical theatre. Amelia trained professionally at New Zealand School of Dance, the Southern Hemisphere’s leading dance institution, majoring in contemporary dance. Since moving to the UK in 2016, she has been working as a freelance professional dance artist with various dance companies and choreographers all over the UK. Amelia is also a freelance teacher and has a passion for sharing her knowledge and experience in various dance styles to all ages and abilities.
