This class will be geared to adult dancers at an improver-intermediate level who wish to work at a faster pace and have a good knowledge and understanding of ballet steps and terminology.
10 – 11.20am – Ballet Class
11.30am – 12 noon – Pointe Class
Please Note – You can attend the class with or without the pointe class. Please ensure you select the appropriate ticket.
You can take part in the pointe section on demi-pointe if you are working on pre-pointe. However it would not be suitable for you to try pointe for the first time in these sessions.
Improver/Intermediate Ballet & Pointe with Deborah Hoskins – Sunday 8th May, 10am-12noon
Originally from Devon, Deborah moved to London to study dance full-time at the lower school of The Urdang Academy from the age of 14, then continuing her professional training into the upper school, which was then in the heart of Covent Garden.
Since then Deborah has performed and taught in London and after a move to West Yorkshire in 2015, she now teaches freelance across Leeds and set up her own school, Deborah Hoskins Dance in January 2016.
Deborah is an ISTD approved tutor. She holds the ISTD Licentiate in Imperial Classical Ballet, DDE in Modern Theatre, Level 3 Diploma in Mat Pilates and Progressing Ballet Technique certified.

Improver/Intermediate Ballet & Pointe with Erica Mulkern – Next Date TBC
Erica Mulkern MA is a professional dancer, teacher, choreographer and mentor based in West Yorkshire, UK. Erica is currently developing and performing her first solo work ‘Suzy Homemaker‘.
She trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance where she received a First Class Hons Degree and the Carolyn Woolridge Prize for highest performance marks. She also gained a Distinction in an MA in Contemporary Dance. Prior to this she completed the Foundation Course at NSCD with a Distinction.
During her time as a professional dancer she has worked with Black Box Dance Company in Denmark, Balbir Singh, Maxine Fell, Jana Bitterová, Mercurial Dance, The Hexagon Collective, Dionysia Bouzioti, Tina Tarpgaard, Jason Mabana, Marie Brolin-Tani, Steph Giles, Joseph Reay-Reid, Jacob Stage, Melody Putu, Alexander Michael, Lila Naruse and Gerry Turvey. Other choreographers she has worked with include: Jos Baker, Laila Diallo, Vanessa Grasse, Lila Dance, Gemma Harrison and Gwen Rakotovao.
Improver/Intermediate Ballet & Pointe with Jane Tucker – Next Date TBC
Jane undertook her early training with the Northern Dance Centre, completing it at Central School of Ballet and Northern Ballet School where she performed and toured with Manchester City Ballet.
Jane began her professional career with Hong Kong Ballet and later joined the Northern Ballet Theatre.
Jane gained Distinction for the Professional Dancers Teaching Diploma at the RAD and has accumulated extensive teaching experience to date, including guest teaching for Northern Ballet School, Elmhurst, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, SLP College and Phil Winston’s Theatreworks.
She helped produce Sleeping Beauty as ballet mistress for the Liverpool Proscenium Youth Ballet Company, provided classical classes for the contemporary companies Darkin Ensemble and Diversity Dance, given private coaching and classes for the original north based Billy and Micheal boys for the West End production of Billy Elliot the Musical and taught the classical classes for the North West Dance Centre for Advanced Training at the Lowry.
She has also been part of the board of directors for Corpi in Mostra, Barletta, and guest teacher for FormAzione Tersicore in Campania, Napoli, Italy.
Alongside guest teaching, Jane teaches for Northern Ballet Academy, Northern School of Contemporary Dance CAT program, Northern Dance Centre, Sara Packham’s Theatre School and is the external examiner for the Royal Academy of Dance’s Professional Dancers Teaching Diploma.
