These sessions will begin as a series of 4 drop in sessions throughout January and will focus on strengthening exercises to build up to pointe work. As these will be without pointe shoes initially you are welcome to participate if you don’t have any pointe shoes.
From February this will be reassessed and you will be guided by your teacher if you are ready to go onto pointe or to continue working on preparatory and strengthening exercises on the demi pointe.
* Please note you will be required to have participated in the Intermediate ballet class preceding these sessions at 7.35-9.05pm. *
If you have a resistance band (sometimes called theraband) please bring this along to class. If you do not own one it may be something worth investing in if you would like to commit to pointe work in the future!

Tutor Bio
Maddie's journey in ballet began at the age of three. At eight, she joined the Royal Ballet Junior Associates, and by eleven, she was training at Elmhurst Ballet School. After eight formative years there, she continued her studies at Northern Ballet, performing with the company in the corps de ballet.
Her nine-year professional career included dancing with English National Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Vienna Festival Ballet, Ballet Cymru, and New English Ballet Theatre. She also freelanced in London, performing at various events and in films.
Among the many ballets Maddie has danced, Swan Lake holds a special place in her heart. Later in her career, she also discovered a passion for contemporary dance, with these productions standing out as some of her personal highlights.
Now having taken a step back from performing, Maddie is dedicated to teaching ballet. She works with students of all ages, focusing on strong technique, artistry, expression, and elegant port de bras. Maddie aims to share the joy and dedication that defined her own ballet journey, helping others explore their passion for dance.
