Physiotherapy led Pilates class for mixed abilities!
Increase your participation in physical activity and gain from the benefits to your physical and mental wellbeing.
This class will utilise Matwork Pilates to focus on engaging your body through a series of controlled movements to help develop strength, balance, coordination and flexibility. Exercises can be adapted based on experience levels and is therefore suitable for beginners and those with more experience of the key Pilates concepts.
Pilates can aid recovery from injury and help you to reduce aches and pains with the support of a physiotherapist leading your class. If you dance at DSL or elsewhere, it is also the perfect opportunity to build strength in your week and help you achieve more in your dance classes.
You must be able to comfortably move to and from the floor independently.
Before attending your first class, you will be required to complete a health questionnaire to ensure this class is suitable for you. Please be mindful this is a group class where guidance, advice and feedback can be given to individuals throughout, however it is not a substitution for direct assessment and treatment of any injuries or health issues and I would recommend you speak to your GP or see a physiotherapist in a 1:1 capacity.
