Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

We at The Dance Studio Leeds, are conscious that Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a growing concern for members of the public, and we want to reassure our clients that we are monitoring the situation carefully as advised by the Chief Medical Officer, Public Health England and the World Health Organisation.

To our knowledge, we are not aware of any actual, or suspected cases of COVID-19 here at The Dance Studio Leeds, therefore the studio and all classes are currently running as normal. In the event that we need to change our stance to reflect the situation as it occurs, we will act quickly to protect and inform our clients to minimise the impact.

However, in the interest of all, we would like to ask all clients, staff and visitors of The Dance Studio Leeds to exercise the following precautions:

Before visiting the studio:
  • If you have travelled to any of the affected areas in the last two weeks or think you may have come into contact with someone who has, even if you are not exhibiting symptoms please don’t visit the studio – but follow the government’s advice to self-isolate and consult NHS’s Advice for Travellers.

  • Additionally please don’t visit the studio if you are ill, or exhibiting symptoms associated with COVID-19 (fever, shortness of breath, tickly cough). Instead seek and follow medical advice by calling 111.

When visiting the studio:
  • If you are attending a class at The Dance Studio Leeds, please wash your hands thoroughly before and after class for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available. This is particularly important after taking public transport to the studio.

  • Catch coughs and sneezes in a tissue, and dispose of that tissue immediately. If a tissue is unavailable at the time, cough or sneeze into the crook of your elbow.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Avoid physical contact with other participants where possible and try to maintain an arm’s length between you and others. Please don’t be offended if we don’t offer hugs or handshakes of welcome in order to limit physical contact with others – we advise that you adopt the same policy.

  • Try to minimise the amount of skin on show (for example t-shirt and shorts), and bring a change of clothes if you are likely to be excessively sweaty.

  • Please wipe down any sweat left in the studios before leaving. We can provide antibacterial spray and paper towels at reception.

  • We would encourage you to bring your own yoga mats if used during a class, or if you do not have your own, bringing a towel to lay over the top.
