What’s your dance background?

I started dancing when I was 4 years old at a local dance school, starting with Ballet and then progressing onto Modern Theatre, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Street and Pointe. After my A Levels, I went to Liverpool John Moore University where I achieved a BA (Hons) in Dance Studies, and later went onto train for 3 years at Urdang Academy where I achieved a Diploma in Professional Dance. Since graduating, I have performed and taught across the country and now enjoy working as a Manager at The Dance Studio Leeds, as well as continuing to teach classes to adults.

What’s your favourite style?

It’s a very difficult decision to decide on one favourite style, as I love aspects of all styles, but I’d probably have to say Tap is my all time favourite. I love the challenges it brings and the music you can create with your feet! I also love all the classic films, Singing In The Rain, Top Hat, 42nd Street etc…and what would they be without Tap?!

If you weren’t a dancer what would you be?

I was actually considering doing a Marine Biology degree at one point! It’s a good job I went for Dance, as have found out since I hate scuba diving! 🙂
