DSL Ballet Fundamentals Course – Mondays 8:30pm – 9:30pm (next course dates Monday 9th September 2019 – Monday 14th October 2019)
What’s your dance background?
I started dancing when I was 3 at Wendy Foster School of Dancing, back in Lincolnshire where I am from. I did most styles of dance but mainly ballet, tap, modern and musical theatre. After my A – Levels, I studied at Performers College in Essex, then I performed professionally and taught in between performing contracts. My performing work included cruise ships, corporate shows, theatre shows in the UK and abroad. I am now teaching and training to be a bbodance examiner.
What’s your favourite style?
My favourite style is jazz because it has so many possible qualities; lyrical, cabaret, musical theatre, technical. I love kicking, leaping and turning so a jazz technique class is great fun for me.
If you weren’t a dancer what would you be?
As a dance teacher, I teach ballet and tap to children from 3 years of age, and absolutely love it, so I hope if I wasn’t a dancer, I would still be working with children in some way.
