Open Jam

The Dance Studio Leeds has launched an Open Jam. An informal studio based setting for sharing. Spectators and Performers of all art forms and dance styles welcome!

How does it work?

We’re turning studio 3 into an informal sharing space – raw and simple – where artists and performers can share sketches of work to an audience, or get up and jam/improvise. The night will be split into two slots:

Slot 1: sharings of sketches (max 15 mins per person/group). These will be allocated on a first come first served basis and require signing up in advance. You’ll have 15 mins to share and if you want to, receive feedback from our audience.

Slot 2: impromptu sharings and improvisation jams (max 5 mins per person/group). From 5:30pm we’ll be putting up a sign up sheet where you can put your name down to jam out in front of an audience (much like karaoke). Put on your favourite song, get your friends up with you and enjoy the chance to perform. 

Open Jam Schedule 

5pm – performers arrive for briefing

5:30pm – doors open for spectators / sign up for second slot opens

6pm – 7pm – slot 1 (sharings from pre-signed up performers)

7pm – 8pm – slot 2 (impromptu sharings and improvisation jams)

This is a pay as you feel event with donations towards the running costs of the event on the evening. Booking in advance is required for event capacities.
