Do I Need To Book? Yes, booking is essential for this class!

This class includes:
  • A warm up, including a selection of dance based fitness routines to get your bodies warm and your heart racing!

  • Learning a short choreographed dance routine, including solo and partner work, and also some creative work, such as creating your own start and ending positions, or showing off some of your own signature dad moves!

  • A cool down and some light stretching ready to continue with the rest of your day.

The class covers a variety of different dance styles, so far focusing on Street Dance, Jazz and Musical Theatre, with a different theme each month. Previous themes have included The Greatest Showman, Battle of The Boy bands, Christmas and Movies!

Some benefits of this class are:
  • It is a great way to get fit, without having to worry about child care. With most dance classes being in the evening and on weekends, it can be very difficult finding classes at suitable times that you can fit around the school run and bed times. Therefore, what better way to fit in your exercise then by bringing your kids with you!

  • With early bird discounts available, you could attend this class for just £5! That’s £5 for one adult and one child, for one hour of activity, you can’t go wrong! So make sure to make the most of those early bird discounts. Discount codes and expiry dates can be found on the DSL Get Down With The Kids class page.

  • It is a great way for you to bond with your child, by interacting with each other, figuring out partner work and being creative together. What better way to spend time with each other than having a good old fashioned dance off on a Saturday morning!

  • It is a great way to learn something new! With this class being open level, we have had some adults who dance regularly attend with children who have never danced at all, and vice versa children who love to dance attending with adults who have never attended a dance class! You’ll be surprised how much you can learn in just an hour!

  • And the most important of all, it is a great way to have fun!

Still not convinced? See for yourself the student feedback below, plus some videos from our previous classes!

We have attended the class as a family of four twice now. My daughter is 8 and loves learning the routine and watching herself in the mirror whilst making her dad lift her for her final pose. My husband enjoys this time with her too as they do the routine together. He worked up a sweat learning the routine and lifting her. I noticed that my fitbit clocked the activity as burning 320 calories and doing over 3500 steps so I was pleased with that. My 6 year old son sometimes struggles joining in and following the steps, but this wasn’t a problem and he did what he could/wanted to which was fine with Jess. I think the music choice really helped as he knew it from Trolls. We all come away saying how we will come again. It’s great value for money with the early bird discount, as an hour’s activity for 4 costs just £10! That’s amazing value and great fun.
