Suitable for complete beginners who would like to get a grounding and understanding of the basics of Ballet. This 4 week course will look at the technique of basic steps, the terminology, and main principles of the style in a fun and relaxed class format. Ballet is a great way to tone and improve overall fitness whilst improving skills such as balance, co-ordination, artistry of movement, and developing core strength.

Tutor Bio Anna grew up in Barcelona where her dance training began at Institut del Teatre conservatoire. Alongside performance, her interest in communication expanded into academia obtaining a degree in journalism at Ramón Llull University. She moved to Leeds  in 2013 and graduated from NSCD with a First Class Bachelors Degree with Honours. As a movement facilitator, Anna teaches ballet and contemporary techniques as well as dance-theatre to a wide range of ages and abilities. She currently works as a lecturer at Leeds Conservatoire and delivers sessions for NSCD, Northern Ballet Academy and The Dance Studio Leeds amongst others. Between 2020-2023, Anna was one of four directors of ProDanceLeeds, an artist led project running classes for independent dance professionals in the city. As a creator, she is particularly interested in collaborative and inter-disciplinary work, having devised projects with actors, musicians, filmmakers, composers and singers to name a few, and creating works in musical theatre, cabaret, opera and dance-theatre. Anna is co-director and performer with Leeds based dance theatre company ACCA since its creation in 2020.
